Hello everyone! Today, one of Dr.Neat's students came back and told us about what he did after High School. He talked about
how computer science could be used in other major's and how much problem solving he needed to do.
It was really facinating of how people could use code in there own daily lives... and how effective it can be. Tyler (the student)
told how me learned 6 COMPUTER LANUGUAGES. It was facinating, and I want the same deal as he did. I think I want to major in
either electriacal, sofware, or mechanical engineering.
Other than that, THATS ALL FOR TODAY!
I was on vacation too Utah during this week. I had lots of fun, and I plan to post up video's and pictures. I took a journey on a plane, and
I finally had the oppertunity to see REAL snow! It was great, but now, I have alot of homework to do.
I plan to catch up my website and I will do all the worksheets I need to do. My grades dropped alot. I hope it can be normal again. Other than
that, I need to notify MYSELF too tell Dr.Neat I wasn't here for this WEEKS WEDESDAY CHALLENGE. I'll make sure I post up
a couple of .JPG's.
Hi Guys! For today, I woke up at 5:30 to go to LAX. A friend of my family, his name is Uncle Bornillia, was kind enough to take my family
to the airport (parking is soooo expensive). It was kind of a hasstle getting up, because everyone was stressed out. We had trouble getting
our tickets... and TSA was a NIGHTMARE. We had to jump through so many loops just trying to keep our bags together. On top of that,
the luggage that was carrying our winter equipment was really heavy, and my dad wasn't really optimitic of carrying such a bag.
We got on our airplane at around 11:00, the time when you guys are going to third period. I kinda wished I was there in my normal third period
class, but you know... I had a vacation.
We arrived in Utah around 12:30, the time where you guys each lunch at CVHS. It wasn't as cold as I thought... and made my dad even more frusrated..
because he had to carry such a large bag. We got at the resort at around 9:00... and since you guys are one hour before Utah.... it would be 8:00
in California. Fortunatly with me, I got to sleep in. That was all for Monday!
Oh Tuesday... probably the most laid back day on my ENTIRE week. I woke up still at around 5:30 (sorry old habits), so it was around 4:30 in California, so some of my teachers were awake. We didn't do that much that day... only we hung out at our Suite, and enjoying the time we had together. I even created a video of the mountainside, but I lost that video. Thats okay I guess, because you can see the mountain range on the picture below. It was really nice, and too admit, I kinda missed you guys.
WEDESDAY... perhaps the most adventourous day we had yet. Today, after we visted a temple in Provo, Utah, we came to visit one of the most
deepest craters in the World... the Homestead crater. We weren't able to dive in it, but we took some nice pictures. We also watched ALOT of
movies that day. So while you guys were takeing tests in class, I was catching up on all the movies I missed over the summer.
Do you wanna build a snowman? That lyric has probably stuck in your mind for the last couple of months. So, this Thurday, for the
last hours of staying in Utah, we built a snowman.... and explored the beautiful landscape of Utah. We toured BYU Provo in the
afternoon, and we ate out at a restaurant.
We then go ready for our departure tommorrow, and we made sure not to forget anything. Other than that, it was a bittersweet day...
I had so much fun in Utah.
We woke up early and without getting too detailed, we got on our airplane back to LAX. You know how TSA harrased us and how we had trouble getting
our tickets. Multiply that by 10 and you get how my Friday was like. WE WE'RE ALL OVER THE AIRPORT. WE didn't know where to go and my parents...
namely my dad was VERY stressed out.
We arrived at around 12:00 in LAX... and we ate out in
Coffie Bean in LAX. We then relaxed for a little bit, and then we got a ride from our neighbour Carl. Since the traffic, we got home at around
2:35, and since I was so cranky because it was sooooooo hot, I took a LONG nap in my bedroom.
Other than that, that was all for my vacation. I loved the state of Utah, and it was a little sad it see it go. But I'm glad I'm back in
the normal state of California.
For today, I updated my REALLY OUTDATED website. I'm really sorry if this entry is short, but my website accidently blocked Dr.Neat's computer. It said it was being attacked by a virus... :3. I'll fix it, like I always do.
Well, I updated my website to the newest and coolest images I could find....
I'm not going to have one of those long entries today, but all we did today was to catch up on any projects Dr.Neat needed us to do.
I worked on my car (Mark II) and I'll be sure to post some images up soon. Other than that, thats all for today!
Dr.Neat wanted us to be the judges of our newest Wednesday Challenge. It was a redo of the challenge we did in 1st Semester,
the one where you had to create an E and to fabricate a design. Lyron and I began working immediately, and we made sure to grade
harder this time.
GRADE EXPLANTION HERE!!! READ if you want to know what happened!
I collected all the SketchUp models and created a spredsheet of all the teams. We didn't use a formula design, but rather, Lyron
created a program that calculated there total.
Today, I was in charge of giving out the SketchUp models of our past Wednesday challenge. I plan to add a download link of ALL SketchUp
models.
I will also remind myself... MAKE A Wednesday Challenge Form! Dr.Neat is really cracking down on people who don't write a log about what
they did. I'm really short on time today, and I want my website to look "Neat" when Dr.Neat grades. Thats all for today!
We had a SketchUp excercise again on Monday. We learned about the Scale tool, a tool you can use if you want to proportionalize
an component. It was an easy tool to use... you could just drag at the side of the component and type how much you wanted it
scaled.
Other than that, we watched a video about the JPL convention challenge during 1st Semester. It was cool too watch... it really
brought me back. I miss 1st Semester...
Hi guys! Today, I was updating my website and I helped my friend Peter on his new website. We had fun searching on Google
finding HTML color codes. It really brought me back to 1st Semester when I was building my website.... I miss 1st Semester.
However, I must look forward. I want to get good grades, and help Peter even more this year. I want to make myself proud.
Dr.Neat made me and Cole a judge again! YEAH! This challenge... is a good one I tell you. I think I already know how too make and
win the challenge :3. But today, Dr.Neat shown us a worksheet telling us to do the challenge... making a container.... for a....
POTATO CHIP!
In the challenge, you are supposed too create a container that when dropped, won't destroy or chip the potato chip (try saying that 10 times).
You then can create a model and calculate your score. This is going to be a good one I tell you. I will bring my A-game and will
be sure to post up .jpgs in a couple of days. Dr.Neat says if you win this challenge, you can get an A for the QUARTER.
For today, I completed the spreadsheet of the Challenge. I gave out the team numbers and made sure everyone understood the challenge...
and thats pretty much it. Dr.Neat made everyone make sure they calculated the score the challenge gave them...
Well, its that time of year again. Its PI DAY! I am a personal advocate for pi day because first, its my brothers birthday, and lastly,
its one of the most iconic numbers of ALL time. 3.14 is certainly a WORTHY number for my attention. Other than that, I caught up on
updating my website. I missed Friday the eleventh last week, but I plan to make that up soon enough.
I've been posting up the pptx's and .SKP's Dr.Neat. Don't need to worry, I'll be posting up LOTS this coming month and this month too. Its
just... Spring break is coming, and I'M really hyped. We're planning to go somewhere special.... but thats all of that. Other than that, I
had a great day today, and I hope you all have a wonderfull pi day. Thats all for today!
Today, Cole O'Bryan and I started documenting on the packages you gave us. I'll be quick today, because we're talking about how to
grade you guys. I kinda felt many of the fifth period only focused on the size of the box, rather than the contraption used too
protect the chip.
I don't think we're going to make big changes to the grading system, but I was kinda bummed out that no one had creative ideas. Cole
made a joke that he would've used Jello to seal up the chip. That's all for today!
Today we completed the spreadsheet Dr.Neat gave us. I made the dumb mistake of useing inches instead of centimeters, so most of the period, I was was deleteing my old data. But thanks to Cole, we're able to complete the spreadsheet on time. I'm kinda wary of the measurments, so I really double-checked the calculations I made. Other than that, my day in fourth period ended when Cole dropped all of the boxes. That's all for today!
Today, I completed updating my spreadsheet for the Chip Challenge. The only thing really left to do is too wait for the boxes to return,
and too plug in the score to my spreadsheet. I look forward in doing this, and I hope that I did my job as a judge very well. I hope
Dr.Neat chooses me again sometime later.
Dr.Neat says that he will be grading my website very soon. I will make sure my website is presentable, and is very nice too look at.
I hope, that my grade in this class will be a hundred percent. I want to do very well in this class.
It was a minimum day today... and the packages didn't come in -_-. But either way, Dr.Neat started the "round 2" of the cardboard car race. It was pretty quick today I tell you... we had to get the ENTIRE fourth period to get there cars. Some people weren't even in the pit! Either way, it was a good day, I was able to get all the averages. Unfortunaly, some kids were still working on there cars... I WASN't ABLE TO GET THEM IN. If you also weren't in the garage when I called you, I marked you absent. So, clear that up with me folks... :D. Thats all for today!
Im back.... AND HAPPY! For vacation, I watched the new "Batman V Superman" movie and played League of Legends. Batman V Superman
was a little dissapointing when I watched it. It was very slow, and they tried to cram so many plots in one movie. I guess they we're
trying too reach the hype just as Marvel Comics did it, but, unlike DC, Marvel had several movies before reaching too the most
"juicy" of parts. I felt they needed to play it out a little longer, and to explain the charicters more. I didn't feel the euphoria at all.
I played League of Legends also over my vacation. I'm planning to main Jayce, an "engineer" that uses a hammer to protect people. I've been
really getting better at his game mechanics, and I plan to buy him as a champion when I get home. I got up too level 29 in my account, and
I can play ranked games if I reach to level 30. I'm really excited.
For today, I updated my "outdated" website. I posted up the CAR results, and I plan to add some images of what I did over Spring break.
I'll update my menue when I get home. I'm really excited. Other than that, that was all for today!
